Ram Jhula is an iconic 450 foot long iron suspension bridge suspended gracefully across the sacred River Ganga in Rishikesh. Constructed in 1986 by the Public Works Department in collaboration with the Sivananda Ashram trust, this architectural landmark bridges Muni Ki Reti with the spiritual colonies of Swargashram in Uttarakhand.
Larger than its upstream twin Lakshman Jhula, Ram Jhula offers sweeping aerial vistas of river rapids, white water rafters, and multi storey ashram spires rising against the backdrop of the emerald green Shivalik foothills.
Walking across the gently swaying pedestrian bridge is a quintessentially authentic Rishikesh experience. The bridge is frequented by saffron clad sadhus, pilgrims, locals on scooters, and travelers heading toward world famous yoga centers like Sivananda Ashram, Parmarth Niketan, and Gita Bhawan.
Early morning and sunset strolls provide golden photographic perspectives over the river. Public ferry boats operate beneath the bridge for visitors seeking a riverside water crossing.

Ram Jhula connects Muni Ki Reti (western bank) with Swargashram (eastern bank), about 3 kilometers north of Rishikesh Railway Station.
