Tiffin Top

Tiffin Top, popularly known as Dorothy Seat, sits atop Ayarpatta Hill at an elevation of 2,292 meters above sea level. This viewpoint delivers sweeping 360 degree vistas over the mango shaped Naini Lake and the snow laden Garhwal peaks of Uttarakhand.

The stone stonework bench at the summit was built by British Army officer Col J.P. Kellett in memory of his artist wife, Dorothy Kellett, who died of septicaemia aboard a ship. Today, the spot is one of the most visited day hike destinations in Nainital, surrounded by dense deodar, pine, and oak woods.

Travelers can reach the hilltop either via an invigorating 4 kilometer trek from Tallital or on horseback. The gentle climb winds through fragrant pine groves, rewarding trekkers with cool Himalayan breezes and stunning photography backdrops.

Mornings offer pristine visibility of the high Himalayan range before afternoon clouds gather. Local vendors near the summit serve steaming Maggi, ginger chai, and fresh pakoras to hikers.
