Rising to an altitude of 2,615 meters, Naina Peak, historically known as China Peak or Cheena Peak, is the highest vantage point in the valley of Nainital. It presents an awe inspiring panorama encompassing the snow clad Himalayan range including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Bandarpoonch.

The 6 kilometer trek from Mallital traverses through quiet trails framed by towering rhododendrons, cypress trees, and Himalayan pines. Birdwatchers often spot Himalayan monals, kalij pheasants, and diverse migratory birds across these forested ridges in Uttarakhand.
At the mountain top, visitors can gaze straight down onto the glittering basin of Naini Lake and the rolling hills of the Tarai plains. The sheer height provides a serene escape from town crowds, making it a favorite for trekkers and landscape photographers.
The round trip trek requires about 4 to 5 hours of walking. Hikers are advised to carry adequate drinking water, energy bars, and a light windcheater as temperatures drop noticeably at the windy summit.
Visiting Hours: 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM daily
Entry Fee: Free entry (Pony charges available from Mallital stand)
