Hanuman Garhi is a sacred hilltop temple and famous sunset viewpoint situated at an elevation of 1,951 meters, roughly 3.5 kilometers south of Tallital in Nainital. Established in 1950 by the revered saint Neem Karoli Baba (Maharaj ji), the temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
The sanctum houses an impressive golden idol of Lord Hanuman standing with his chest split open, revealing Lord Rama and Goddess Sita enshrined within his heart. The shrine is one of the most spiritually charged pilgrimage spots in Kumaon.
