Shikhar Fall is a secluded natural cascade and adventure hiking destination situated in Kairwaan village near Rajpur in Dehradun. Hidden amidst dense oak, rhododendron, and pine woods in the Himalayan foothills, this rugged waterfall provides a refreshing escape into nature in Uttarakhand.
Reaching the main falls requires an adventurous 1.5 kilometer trek along a shallow boulder strewn mountain stream. Trekkers handle through natural rock pools, small wooden log crossings, and narrow stone ledges accompanied by chirping mountain birds and rushing water sounds.
At the end of the trail, the waterfall tumbles down steep mossy cliffs into a clear natural splash pool. Adventurers can wade into the cool mountain waters or relax on the sun warmed boulders surrounded by lush Himalayan flora.
Wear sturdy waterproof trekking shoes with slip resistant grip as rocks can be slick. Local village tea stalls near the base serve hot noodles, chai, and mountain snacks.
Visiting Hours: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily (Trekking after dark strictly discouraged)
