Dhangarhi Museum

Dhangarhi Museum is a wildlife interpretation center and historical gateway located right at the main Dhangarhi entry gate of Jim Corbett National Park. Situated about 18 kilometers from Ramnagar along the Ranikhet highway, it is the official reception center for all safaris entering the famed Dhikala tourism zone.

Established by the Uttarakhand Forest Department to educate visitors before they enter core tiger habitats, the museum showcases the rich natural heritage, conservation milestones, and wildlife biology of Corbett Tiger Reserve.

Wildlife Exhibits, Life Size Taxidermy, and Souvenirs

Inside the museum galleries, visitors can view dramatic life size taxidermy models of Royal Bengal tigers, leopards, and Himalayan black bears that died of natural territorial fights or old age in the park. Glass cases display massive elephant tusks, tiger skulls, and sambar antlers.

The exhibits also narrate the historical timeline of Jim Corbett's anti poaching campaigns and the 1936 establishment of Hailey National Park (Asia's first national park). A government souvenir shop sells wildlife books, postcards, and local handicraft souvenirs.
