Corbett Museum

Corbett Museum is a heritage memorial museum located at Kaladhungi, about 32 kilometers from Ramnagar. Housed inside the stone bungalow that once served as the winter home of legendary hunter naturalist, author, and conservationist Edward James Jim Corbett, this landmark preserves the pioneer's extraordinary life story.

Corbett lived here with his sister Maggie, dedicating his later years to protecting local villagers from man eating tigers and advocating for India's first national park. Following his departure to Kenya in 1947, the heritage property was conserved and converted into a public museum by the state forest department.

Personal Memorabilia, Letters, and Heritage Gardens

Inside the museum rooms, visitors can view Jim Corbett's personal belongings, including his vintage hunting cap, rare black and white jungle photographs, original handwritten letters, maps, and manuscripts of his world famous books like Man Eaters of Kumaon.

The museum displays historical taxidermy models, antique fishing tackle, and detailed sketches illustrating man eater encounters across Garhwal and Kumaon. The bungalow is surrounded by heritage mango and teak trees, where visitors can browse artisan handicraft shops and book counters.
