St Marys Church is an iconic 19th century Anglican stone church situated on a peaceful pine wooded crest near Tip in Top viewpoint in Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. Constructed in 1896 by Colonel A. H. B. Hume of the Royal Engineers, this charming Victorian Gothic sanctuary was carefully restored by the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre in 2005 and repurposed into a memorial museum honoring the regiment's military legacy.
Constructed with dressed hill stone, stained glass windows imported from Belgium, and dark polished timber gables, the church interior now houses a gallery of pre independence colonial photographs, military regalia, and historic artifacts. Visitors can watch an engaging 20 minute audio visual documentary chronicling the history of Lansdowne and the Garhwal Rifles' battlefield heroics in World War I and II. The manicured church lawns, shaded by century old blue pines, provide a tranquil setting for peaceful reflection.
