Bhulla Tal

Bhulla Tal (also affectionately called Bhulla Lake) is a scenic manmade freshwater lake constructed by the Indian Army's Garhwal Rifles regiment in honor of the Garhwali youth (Bhulla meaning 'younger brother' in Garhwali), situated in Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. Perched at an altitude of approximately 1,600 meters, this pristine lake park is the centerpiece recreational retreat for visiting families, couples, and nature lovers.

Encircled by dense oak, pine, and weeping willow trees, the lake features pedal boating facilities, an arched wooden bridge across the water, and swimming ducks and swans gliding across the calm surface. The surrounding park includes colorful landscaped flower gardens, a children's play area with swings, a rabbit and duck enclosure, and a cozy army run cafe serving hot snacks, momos, and filter coffee. A dedicated souvenir shop offers authentic Garhwali handloom shawls and regimental mementos.

Truth is, gently paddling across the serene emerald lake while ducks swim alongside under the shade of giant pines is wonderfully peaceful. It stands as the most beloved family holiday destination in Uttarakhand's Lansdowne hills.
