Devgarh Fort (locally celebrated as Deogarh Kila, renowned across Rajasthan's Shekhawati region as an imposing 18th century hilltop citadel constructed by the royal founder of Sikar state, Rao Raja Devi Singh, commanding strategic defense over ancient desert trade routes), situated atop a rugged Aravalli hillock at an elevation of 2,100 feet just 10 km south of Sikar in Rajasthan, is one of the region's most authentic and dramatically poised military fortresses.

Military Citadel Built by Rao Raja Devi Singh (1787 AD)

Rao Raja Devi Singh, who established modern Sikar town in the late 18th century, chose this high hillock to construct a military outpost to defend his principality against Jaipur and Maratha incursions.

The fort was fortified with double stone perimeter walls, deep watchtowers, and secret underground granaries designed to withstand protracted desert sieges.
