Shimla is the beautiful capital of Himachal Pradesh. Popularly known as the Hill Queen, it is unarguably the most favored honeymoon destination in the country. Shimla till date has a colonial hangover all around it. There several look out points for the entertainment of the discerning travelers. Manali is another beautiful place located in Himachal Pradesh. It wows every tourist with its fertile silent valleys, gushing rivers and snow-clad mountains. Manali is an all season heaven and serves as a base camp for various excursions ito the inner Himalayas.

Day 01: Delhi - Manali (580 kms/14 hrs)
Travel by surface from Delhi to Manali
Manali : at the northern end of the Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh, is a hill station situated at a height of 2050 m (6398 ft) in the Himalayas. Situated on the Beas river (Vyaas in Hindi) and near its source, it is a popular tourist spot for Indians in summer and a magical, snow-covered place in winter. A staging point for a number of treks (Beas Kund, Chandrakhani Pass) and sports such as white-water rafting, Manali is also on the road to Ladakh via the valley of Lahaul and Spiti and rohtang pass which is main attraction near manali.
On arrival at Manali, check in at hotel. Evening free for leisure, overnight stay at hotel at manali.

Day 02: In Manali
After breakfast visit to city tour. Visiting Hadimba temple, the 450 years old Hidimbadevi Temple, the oldest temple in Manali, Vashisht Temple, Manu temple and picturesque Naggar Valley.Evening you can enjoy at mall road,later back to hotel.free for leisure.overnight stay at hotel at Manali.

Day 03: Manali -Rohtang Pass -Manali
After early breakfast visit to excursion visiting Kothi Gorge, Gulaba, Marhi, Rohtang Pass (Upto Snow Line in case Rohtang is closed due to snow fall) Carry warm clothes like hand gloves, muffler, sweater, shawl, socks & sports shoes etc. Enroute overcoats and shoes are available on hire. Please note that Rohtang Pass (altitude 3940 mts.) is actually 51 kms. far from Manali, due to heavy snow covering the road, this pass is not accessible during heavy snow fall for Snow Point,and Sollang Valley. Later back to hotel.evening free for leisure ,overnight stay at hotel at Manali.

Day 04: Manali - Delhi (580 Kms/ 14 hrs)
After breakfast check out from hotel then drive towards Delhi. Evening arrive Delhi. Drop at railway station/airport for onwards journey.

By Air:

The nearest domestic airport is Kullu-Manali Airport at Bhuntar (Airport Code: KUU), situated approximately 50 km south of Manali (about 1.5 hours drive along the Beas River via the four-lane NH-21 highway). Daily Alliance Air flights connect Bhuntar with New Delhi (IGI) and Chandigarh. Alternatively, Chandigarh International Airport (Airport Code: IXC) is located 280 km away (approximately 6.5 hours drive via the Kiratpur-Manali Expressway).

By Train:

Due to mountain terrain, the nearest broad-gauge railway stations are Chandigarh Railway Station (280 km) and Anandpur Sahib / Kiratpur Sahib Railway Station (230 km), connected to New Delhi by daily superfast Vande Bharat Express and Shatabdi Express trains. From Chandigarh or Kiratpur, regular Volvo buses and private taxis operate directly to Manali.

By Road:

Manali enjoys world-class four-lane national highway connectivity via the newly commissioned Kiratpur-Manali Expressway (NH-21):

• From Delhi NCR (~510 km / 9 to 10 hours): Drive via NH-44 through Panipat, Karnal, Ambala, and the four-lane Kiratpur-Nerchowk-Mandi-Kullu-Manali Expressway (NH-21), cutting travel time drastically via modern highway tunnels.
• From Chandigarh (~280 km / 6 to 6.5 hours): Smooth four-lane mountain drive via Rupnagar, Kiratpur, Bilaspur bypass, Sundernagar, Mandi, Aut Tunnel, and Kullu.
• From Shimla (~245 km / 7 hours): Mountain highway passing through Bilaspur, Mandi, and Kullu.
• State & Private Luxury Buses: Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) and luxury private operators run round-the-clock Volvo AC and Scania sleeper buses from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, New Delhi, and Sector 43 ISBT, Chandigarh, directly to Manali Private Bus Stand.

Manali features a magnificent array of ancient multi-tiered wooden temples, adrenaline-fueled adventure valleys, high-altitude mountain passes, hot water sulphur springs, and roaring waterfalls:

1. Hadimba Devi Temple (16th-Century Dhungari Wood Pagoda & Cedar Woods)

Erected in 1553 AD by Raja Bahadur Singh of Kullu, Hadimba Temple is an architectural masterpiece dedicated to Hidimba Devi (wife of Pandava prince Bhima from the Mahabharata). Built entirely of timber and stone featuring four tiers of conical wood-shingled pagoda roofs, the shrine is embellished with intricate carvings of deities, dancers, and mountain animals, surrounded by giant centuries-old deodar trees in the Dhungari forest.

2. Solang Valley (Adrenaline Sports, Paragliding & Winter Ski Slopes — 13 km)

Located 13 km northwest of Manali, Solang Valley is the undisputed adventure sports capital of Himachal Pradesh. During summer and autumn (March to November), its green meadows offer tandem paragliding, zorbing, high-wire ziplining, ATV rides, and giant ropeway cable car rides up to Mount Phatru (3,200 m). In winter (December to February), Solang transforms into a world-class ski resort with powdery ski slopes, snowboarding, and snowmobiling.

3. Rohtang Pass (High-Altitude Snow Mountain Pass at 3,978 m — 51 km)

Perched on the crest of the Pir Panjal Range at an altitude of 3,978 meters (13,050 feet), Rohtang Pass is the legendary mountain highway connecting Kullu Valley to Lahaul and Ladakh. Open seasonally from May to November, Rohtang offers visitors an unforgettable visual spectacle of sheer snow walls, glaciers, Chandra River headwaters, and panoramic views of jagged Himalayan peaks.

4. Atal Tunnel Rohtang & Sissu Waterfall Lahaul Gateway (9.02 km Marvel)

Inaugurated in October 2020, the Atal Tunnel is the longest highway tunnel above 10,000 feet (3,048 m) in the world, spanning 9.02 km beneath the Rohtang Pass. Driving through the tunnel transports travelers from the lush green cedar slopes of Dhundi (South Portal) into the dramatic arid, snow-blanketed moonscape of Sissu and Lahaul Valley (North Portal) in just 10 minutes.

5. Jogini Waterfall & Vashisht Natural Sulphur Hot Springs Trek

Beginning at the ancient stone temple of Sage Vashisht (famous for its natural curative sulphur hot water baths), a scenic 3 km hiking trail winds through apple orchards and pine woods to the spectacular multi-tiered Jogini Waterfall. Cascading down over 150 feet of vertical rock into a foaming natural pool, Jogini is regarded as a sacred abode of village goddesses (Joginis).

6. Old Manali & Sage Manu Maharishi Ancient Shrine

Cross the bridge over the bubbling Manalsu River to reach Old Manali, a bohemian enclave of traditional slate-roofed Kathkuni wooden houses, laid-back cafes, live acoustic music, and bakery bistros. At the crest of Old Manali village stands the Manu Maharishi Temple, the only temple in India dedicated to sage Manu.

7. Mall Road Promenade & Himalayan Nyinmapa Buddhist Monastery

The bustling commercial hub of town, Mall Road is a pedestrian boulevard lined with handicraft emporiums, woolen stores, and restaurants. Located just off the main avenue are two serene Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries (Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa and Himalayan Nyinmapa Buddhist Temple) celebrated for their golden Buddha statues and vibrant Thanka murals.

8. Van Vihar National Park & Beas River Forest Walk

Located on the banks of the Beas River right behind Mall Road, Van Vihar is a municipal forest sanctuary shaded by giant century-old deodar trees. The park features a small artificial boating lake, stone footpaths, and direct access to the rocky banks of the roaring Beas River.

9. Naggar Castle & Nicholas Roerich Heritage Art Gallery (20 km)

Perched on a forested mountain spur 20 km south of Manali, Naggar Castle is a 500-year-old wooden castle built by Raja Sidh Singh in traditional wood-and-stone earthquake-resistant Kathkuni architecture. Nearby is the estate of renowned Russian painter Nicholas Roerich, preserving his original Himalayan landscape oil paintings.
