Located in the fertile Terai plains on the banks of the Deoha River along the Rudrapur Tanakpur highway in Udham Singh Nagar district, Nanak Matta (Gurudwara Sri Nanakmatta Sahib) is one of the most sacred Sikh pilgrimage shrines in Uttarakhand. Situated roughly 15 kilometers from Sitarganj and 50 kilometers from Rudrapur, this historic pilgrimage complex marks the blessed site visited in 1514 AD by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru, during his third spiritual journey (Udasi).

Originally an ancient Siddha yoga hermitage known as Gorakhmatta, the site was renamed Nanakmatta after Guru Nanak sat beneath a dried pipal tree, which miraculously turned green with vibrant leaves as he engaged in spiritual dialogues on selfless service and inner devotion. The sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind Ji, also visited the shrine in 1629 AD.
The expansive gurudwara features a glistening white marble sanctum, a holy sarovar (sacred bathing pool), and round the clock free community kitchen (Guru Ka Langar). Directly adjacent to the shrine lies the vast Nanakmatta Dam and reservoir, offering boating and serene sunset walks.
