Jwala Devi Temple, locally known as Jwala Ji Mandir, is an ancient sacred hilltop shrine dedicated to Goddess Durga situated at an altitude of 2,104 meters atop Benog Hill in Mussoorie. built on the western edge of the Queen of Hills in Uttarakhand, this spiritual landmark offers unmatched panoramic vistas of the Yamuna River valley and snow clad Himalayan crests.

The temple sanctum enshrines an ancient stone idol of Goddess Durga (Maa Jwala), representing the eternal divine flame of cosmic energy. Devotees believe that praying to Maa Jwala with genuine faith removes all obstacles, bestows courage, and fulfills heartfelt wishes.
Surrounded by the protected woods of the Benog Wildlife Sanctuary, the approach requires an invigorating 2 kilometer nature trek starting from Cloud End. The trail winds through dense pine, oak, and rhododendron forests alive with chirping mountain birds and butterflies.
The summit provides striking views looking straight down into the silver ribbon of the Yamuna River and Shivalik ranges. Carrying drinking water and light windcheaters is recommended.
Visiting Hours: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily (Trek best begun in morning)
