Package Itinerary

DAY 01: Srinagar
You will be met by our representative at the Srinagar airport. He will assist and transfer you to the hotel/Hotel. In the afternoon you take a shikara ride on Dal Lake, where you visit the floating vegetable gardens. While riding the Shikara’s there are plenty of opportunities for bird watching with plentiful species including Kingfisher, Little Bittern, Common Pariah Kites, Grebe etc. Dinner and Overnight in Hotel.

DAY 02: Srinagar
Morning sightseeing of the Mughal Gardens, visiting Nishat Bagh built by Asaf Khan, the brother -in- law of Jehangir in 1632 AD, and Shalimar Bagh built by Jehangir for his wife empress Nur Jahan. All the gardens are situated on the banks of the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan hills in the background. Afternoon will be at your leisure for individual activities. Overnight in Hotel.

DAY 03: Srinagar – Gulmarg - Srinagar
Morning leave for Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 mts. above the sea level. The distance of 60 kms will be covered in about 2 hours. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and highest golf course with 18 holes. If weather permits one can also have the view of Nanga Parbat, the naked mountain that is over 26,000 feets and dominates the entire region, also enjoy cable car (Gondola) for mountain ride upto khilangmarg. In the evening drive back to Srinagar. Overnight in Hotel

DAY 04: Srinagar -Pahalgam- Srinagar
After breakfast drive to Pahalgam (The valley of shepherds).The total distance is about 96 kms, will be covered in about 3 hours. En-route, visiting the saffron fields of pampore, Awantipura Ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by the King Awantivarman), and enjoy the beautiful countryside.Drive throught the pine forests. Arrive at Pahalgam and enjoy Lidder stream. Later walk along pony trails with a magnificent view of the mountains.Drive back to Srinagar. Overnight in Hotel.

DAY 05: Srinagar.
After breakfast transfer to Srinagar airport for onward flight.

How to reach Srinagar

By Air:

The city is served by Sheikh ul Alam International Airport in Srinagar (Airport Code: SXR), located in Budgam 12 km south of the city center. Srinagar Airport operates frequent daily non stop flights connecting New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Jammu, Kolkata, and Hyderabad via Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, and Vistara. Prepaid airport taxis, tourist cabs, and hotel shuttles operate from the terminal.

By Train:

Current Major Railhead: Jammu Tawi Railway Station (Station Code: JAT - 250 km / 5.5 hours drive via NH-44) and Katra (SVDK) are the primary broad gauge railheads, connected to all Indian state capitals by premier trains (Vande Bharat Express, Jammu Rajdhani, and Jhelum Express):

Kashmir Valley Rail Network:** **Srinagar Railway Station (Station Code: SINA / Nowgam)** is part of the scenic broad gauge valley line connecting Banihal to Baramulla via Anantnag and Srinagar. Direct express trains will connect New Delhi directly to Srinagar across the landmark Chenab Arch Bridge.

Shared cabs and private taxis operate continuously from Jammu Tawi and Banihal Railway Stations to Srinagar.

By Road:

Srinagar connects via the 4-lane National Highway 44 (NH-44 / Srinagar Jammu National Highway) passing through the 8.5 km Banihal Qazigund Navayuga Tunnel:

From Jammu (~250 km / 5.5 hours):** Smooth 4-lane highway drive through the modern mountain tunnels.

From Gulmarg (~50 km / 1.5 hours):** Scenic mountain drive through apple orchards on Narbal Tangmarg road.

From Pahalgam (~95 km / 2.5 hours):** Smooth drive via Avantipur and Anantnag on NH-44.

From Sonamarg (~80 km / 2 hours):** Scenic drive through Sindh valley on NH-1.

State Buses:** JKSRTC operates daily Super Luxury Volvo AC coaches to Srinagar TRC Bus Stand from Jammu, New Delhi ISBT Kashmere Gate, and Chandigarh.

Srinagar offers an extraordinary collection of scenic lakes, terraced Mughal pleasure gardens, ancient hilltop temples, and spring flower valleys:

1. Dal Lake Shikara Cruises, Houseboats & Floating Vegetable Markets (1,585m)

The crowning jewel of Srinagar, Dal Lake covers 18 square kilometers and is famous for its carved cedarwood luxury houseboats and colorful wooden *shikaras*. Highlights include leisurely sunset cruises to *Char Chinar* island, visiting floating handicraft shops, observing early morning floating vegetable markets at dawn, and photographing water lilies against the Zabarwan Mountains.

2. Shalimar Bagh & Jahangir's Mughal Terraced Water Cascades (1619 CE)

Commissioned in 1619 by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his beloved wife Empress Nur Jahan, Shalimar Bagh (the "Abode of Love") is the grandest Mughal garden in Kashmir. Spread across four rising terraces, the garden features a central canal fed by mountain springs, 410 carved stone fountains, the polished black marble pavilion *Black Pavilion (Diwan e Khas)*, and centuries old giant Chinar trees.

3. Nishat Bagh & 12-Terraced Garden of Bliss on Dal Lake (1633 CE)

Designed in 1633 by Asif Khan (brother of Empress Nur Jahan), Nishat Bagh (the "Garden of Bliss") is the second largest Mughal garden in Kashmir. Laid out along the eastern shore of Dal Lake, its 12 majestic rising terraces represent the twelve zodiac signs, each adorned with blooming rose gardens, water cascades, and sweeping panoramic views across Dal Lake.

4. Shankaracharya Temple & Lord Shiva Stone Sanctum (Gopadari Hill - 9th Century)

Perched 1,000 feet above the valley floor on the summit of Gopadari Hill, the Shankaracharya Temple is an ancient stone carved Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, dating back to 200 BCE with the present stone structure constructed in the 9th century CE. Associated with the visit of philosopher Adi Shankaracharya, the temple summit offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Srinagar and the Pir Panjal Range.

5. Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden & Zabarwan Spring Blossom (Asia's Largest)

Spread over 30 hectares in the foothills of the Zabarwan mountain range overlooking Dal Lake, this is Asia's largest tulip garden. Every year from late March to late April, the garden blooms with over 1.5 million tulips across 65 distinct varieties, along with daffodils, hyacinths, and narcissus during the world famous annual *Kashmir Tulip Festival*.

6. Pari Mahal (Palace of Fairies & Dara Shikoh Astronomical Observatory - 1650)

Constructed in the mid 17th century by Mughal Prince Dara Shikoh as an astrological school and royal summer retreat, Pari Mahal is a seven terraced garden perched on a high ridge above Chashme Shahi, renowned for its arched pavilions, illuminated gardens, and sunset panoramas.

7. Hazratbal Shrine & Sacred Moi e Muqqadas White Marble Sanctum (Dal Lake)

Situated on the northern bank of Dal Lake, this white marble domed shrine is Kashmir's holiest Muslim pilgrimage site, enshrining the sacred relic *Moi e Muqqadas* (a preserved hair strand of Prophet Muhammad).

8. Nigeen Lake & Peaceful Willow Lined Houseboat Promenade

Considered a jewel like extension of Dal Lake connected via a narrow water channel, Nigeen Lake offers a calmer, tranquil setting surrounded by weeping willows, poplar trees, swimming facilities, and luxury heritage houseboats.

9. Old Srinagar Downtown Walking Tour & Historic Wooden Bridges (Zaina Kadal)
