Birthi Water Fall is a spectacular natural cascade plunging over 126 meters (400 feet) down sheer dark granite cliffs along the Thal Munsiyari highway, roughly 35 km before reaching Munsiyari. Situated at an altitude of approximately 2,000 meters, this thunderous waterfall is fed by pristine glacial streams from the higher Himalayan ranges, forming one of Kumaon's most famous natural landmarks.

From the roadside KMVN rest house, a well paved 500 meter stone walking path leads visitors right up to the base of the cascade where cool mountain spray fills the air. Travelers driving through eastern Uttarakhand stop here to refresh themselves, take stunning long exposure photographs of the cascading white water, and enjoy lunch at the scenic cliffside cafe.
Truth is, the thunder of cascading water echoing through the green gorge will take your breath away. The waterfall viewpoint is accessible 24 hours a day with zero admission charges.
The best months to visit Birthi Water Fall are from September to November for clear skies, or July to August to witness the waterfall at its thunderous maximum volume.
