The 236 Foot Southern Rajagopuram: Tower of Srirangam

Completed in March 1987 under the guidance of the 44th Jeeyar of Sri Ahobila Mutt, the 13 storey southern Rajagopuram rises 236 feet high with a base area of 166 by 97 feet.

The massive tower is decorated with hundreds of hand sculpted polychrome stucco figures depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavata Purana.

Truth is, viewing the colossal Rajagopuram lit up against the night sky while temple bells chime is deeply impressive.

Lord Ranganatha Sanctum & Sri Ramanuja's 900 Year Relic
