The Appu Lingam: Water Element of Pancha Bhoota Sthalams

Inside the sunken inner sanctum, the sacred Appu Lingam rests beneath floor level, constantly submerged in a natural underground water spring that never dries even during peak summer droughts.

Priests pump water out daily to perform abhishekams, yet clear mountain spring water continuously bubbles up from the subterranean rock bed to cover the base of the Shiva Lingam.
