Maharaja Balwant Singh & 90 Year Construction Legacy

When Maharaja Balwant Singh was blessed with a son in 1845, he pledged to build a grand temple for Goddess Ganga, creating a royal edict that all state employees would contribute one month's salary toward its construction.

Because of the intricate stonework and perfectionist craftsmanship required, construction spanned five royal generations before the final consecration in 1937.
