Chattrakund is a serene freshwater natural lake tucked inside dense oak, pine, and rhododendron forests at an altitude of approximately 3,300 meters (10,826 feet) near Auli in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Perched just 1 km beyond the scenic alpine meadows of Gurso Bugyal and 4 km from the upper ski slopes of Auli, this crystal clear forest pond is famous for its exceptionally sweet, potable spring water and peaceful wilderness ambiance.
Surrounded by towering coniferous canopy and moss covered boulders, Chattrakund feels like a hidden fairytale pool far away from commercial tourist crowds.
