Simtola

Simtola is a scenic hill terrace and popular picnic ground situated roughly 3 kilometers from Almora town. Sitting across an opposing ridge overlooking the Suyal river valley, Simtola was originally developed as a British colonial sanitarium and equestrian recreational ground.

The ridge is blanketed by dense forests of fragrant chir pine, deodar, and oak trees. Weathered grey granite boulders and rolling grassy hillocks provide natural open air seating with sweeping views of the terraced Kumaoni farmlands below.
