Kasar Devi Temple

Kasar Devi Temple is a celebrated 2nd century rock cave shrine situated atop the Kasar Devi ridge at an elevation of 2,116 meters. Positioned 8 kilometers from Almora, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Kasar Devi, an incarnation of Goddess Durga worshipped here since antiquity.

The temple sits upon a unique geomagnetic field. Scientific studies by NASA and other institutions have noted high electromagnetic energy radiating around the hill, placing Kasar Devi in a rare global geo magnetic triad alongside Stonehenge in England and Machu Picchu in Peru.

Crank's Ridge, Swami Vivekananda, and Himalayan Vistas

Devotees climb a flight of stone steps through pine groves to reach the temple courtyard. The hilltop vantage point delivers sweeping 360 degree panoramic views of the Greater Himalayan peaks from Bandarpunch and Chaukhamba to Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli.
