Deer Park

Deer Park is a serene wildlife enclosure and nature reserve located in the NTD (Narayan Tewari Dewal) area, roughly 3 kilometers from Almora town. Enveloped by towering chir pine, cedar, and oak trees, the park offers a safe great place for indigenous Himalayan wildlife species.

The park is managed by the Uttarakhand State Forest Department, focusing on wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and environmental education. Wide enclosures amidst natural hill terrain allow animals to roam comfortably in their natural habitat.

Himalayan Fauna and Woodland Walking Paths

Visitors walking through the park can observe herds of spotted deer (chital), sambar deer, barking deer (kakar), and musk deer grazing peacefully among pine needles. The reserve also houses rescued Himalayan black bears, leopards, and colorful pheasants.

Well paved walking trails wind gently across the forested slope, equipped with wooden benches and viewing gazebos overlooking the rolling hills of Almora. The area is a great place for nature enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and families traveling with children.
