Bhimtal is situated at an altitude of 1200 m so is slightly on the warmer side in mid June, but makes for an all year round destination. For recreation one can do boating at the lake or explore the surrounding jungle on foot. It can also be made as a center for exploring the surrounding lakes. There is a large Victorian dam at one end of the Bhimtal lake and terraced flower gardens can be found on either side. Next to the dam is the Bhimkeshwar temple dedicated to Bhim. Another tourist attractions in Bhimtal is The Museum of Folk Culture (Lok Sanskriti Sangrahalaya) housing collections of folk paintings and ancient wooden artifacts.

Day 1:   Delhi - Bhimtal

Pick-up from Delhi Railway Station as per your flights time or Airport, drive to Bhimtal. check in at hotel & relax, evening free for individual activities. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02:  Bhimtal Local Sightseeing

Have your breakfast at the hotel. visit to Bhimtal Local Sightseens. Explore the lush surroundings on your own, as per your liking. Lying at an altitude of 1370 m above the sea level, Bhimtal is a town that houses the picturesque Bhimtal Lake that lies amidst mountains and greenery. On the banks of the Lake is Bhimeshwar Maha Dev temple that is believed to have been built by Bhima, one of the 5 Pandava brothers of Mahabharata. It was later renovated in the 17th century by Baz Bahadur of Chand Dynasty. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03:   Bhimtal - Delhi Dep.

After early breakfast, drive back to Delhi. On arrive Delhi, transfer to Railway Station or Airport.

By Train:

Kathgodam Railway Station (Station Code: KGM - 21 km south): The primary railway gateway to Kumaon with direct daily express trains from New Delhi (Kathgodam Shatabdi Express, Ranikhet Express, Uttar Sampark Kranti Express), Lucknow, Kolkata, and Dehradun. Hill cabs and shared jeeps reach Bhimtal in approximately 35 to 45 minutes along NH-109.

By Air:

Pantnagar Airport (Airport Code: PGH - 58 km south): Nearest domestic airport operating flights from New Delhi and Dehradun. Hill taxis reach Bhimtal in approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. For international flights, Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL - 290 km west) is connected via a smooth 5.5 to 6 hour drive along the Delhi Moradabad Kathgodam highway.

By Road:

• From Delhi (~290 km / 5.5 to 6 hours): Via Delhi Meerut Expressway, Hapur, Moradabad bypass, Rampur, Rudrapur, Haldwani, Kathgodam, and Bhimtal (NH-09 / NH-109).
• From Nainital (~22 km / 45 minutes): Via Bhowali and Bhimtal road.
• From Corbett National Park / Ramnagar (~85 km / 2.5 hours): Via Kaladhungi, Haldwani, and Kathgodam.
• UTC and private AC deluxe buses operate round the clock from Anand Vihar ISBT (Delhi) to Kathgodam and Haldwani, where local cabs provide seamless mountain transfers.

Local Transport:

Shared jeeps, local taxis, auto rickshaws, and paddle boats connect Bhimtal lakefront, dam market, Naukuchiatal, and Sattal.

1. Bhimtal Lake & Iconic Island Aquarium Cafe (Central Lake Island)

2. Bhimeshwar Mahadev Temple & 17th Century Pandava Shiva Shrine

An ancient Shiva temple situated on the banks of Bhimtal Lake. Reconstructed in the 17th century by the Chand ruler Baz Bahadur, the temple holds deep mythological roots dating back to prince Bhima's penance during the Mahabharata era.

3. Victoria Masonry Dam (1883) & Terraced Lakeside Flower Gardens

A historic masonry dam built in 1883 at the southern end of Bhimtal Lake. It is bordered by terraced floral gardens, shaded gazebos, and paved pedestrian walkways offering magnificent panoramic views across the waters.

4. Hidimba Parvat & Vankhandi Maharaj Wildlife Conservation Ashram

A lush mountain peak situated 5 km from Bhimtal, named after Hidimba from the Mahabharata. The hill features a peaceful forest ashram established by Vankhandi Maharaj, surrounded by oak forests and a tranquil wildlife sanctuary.
