The Hornby Vellard Miracle & Tridevi Sanctum

In the 1780s, British engineers building the Hornby Vellard sea wall faced constant collapses until Ramji Shivji Prabhu retrieved three goddess idols from the sea; upon consecrating them, the sea wall held firmly.

The inner sanctum enshrines the Tridevi: central Goddess Mahalaxmi holding lotus flowers, flanked by Goddess Mahakali (power) and Goddess Mahasaraswati (knowledge), all crowned in shimmering gold masks.

Navratri & Margashirsha Thursdays: During Navratri and the auspicious Margashirsha month, tens of thousands of women observe fasts and line up from early dawn to offer coconuts, silk sarees, and dry fruits.

Diwali Chopda Pujan: On Diwali Lakshmi Pujan day, merchants, business leaders, and families from across Mumbai visit the temple to place their account books and gold coins before the goddess for blessings of prosperity.
