Leh is the largest province within the North Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir, covering approximately 60,000 square miles (100,000 sq. km). It is surrounded and bisected by some of the highest mountain ranges in the world. Running in a generally northwest to southeast direction through Leh, the great Himalayan Range separates the Vale of Kashmir from Ladakh. Leh Geography Running in a generally northwest to southeast direction through Leh, the great Himalayan Range separates the Vale of Kashmir from Leh. Further east, and running in the same direction, The height of these ranges prevents rain clouds from crossing into Leh and as a result, The aridity of the area is immediately apparent to the visitor, with Leh's long vistas of mountains without vegetation and valleys with only a few oases of green.

Day 01: Leh Arrival

Arrival at Leh airport, to be received by our representative and transferred to the Hotel. Check in to the hotel for a complete day of rest where in welcome tea and coffee will be served by the Hotel. visit Leh Market, Leh Palace, Hall of Fame and Shanti Stupa. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 02: Leh Local Sightseeing

A Complete day of visit to the monasteries (104 Kms). After breakfast, drive to visit the Shey Palace, Thiksey, Hemis monasteries and Stok Palace Museum. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 03 : Leh - Pangong Lake - Leh

After leisurely breakfast full day excursion to Pangong Lake (approx. 300 kms round trip, located on the Indo - China Border), enroute crossing the Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.). After sightseeing around the lake, drive back to Leh reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight.

Day 04: Leh Drop

06:00hrs. Transfer to the airport and fly back to Delhi with memories.

• Minimum Cancilation charges before 10days of Travel Date is 10% of package cost

• Package cost will change if opted for guide service, choice of transport vehicle, hotel type change
• Accommodation charges as mentioned in the package are with 2 persons staying together sharing the same room
• Extra persons in same room charges extra

By Air:

The fastest and most reliable route is via Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh (Airport Code: IXL - 4 km from Leh Main Market / one of the highest commercial airports in the world at 3,256 meters altitude). Daily direct non stop flights operate from New Delhi (1 hour 15 mins), Mumbai, Jammu, Chandigarh, and Srinagar. Important: All visitors flying into Leh must observe mandatory 48-hour rest in Leh town for altitude acclimatization.

By Road:

• Srinagar-Leh National Highway (NH-1 - 420 km / 2 Days): Scenic drive passing Sonamarg, Zojila Pass (3,528m), Dras, Kargil War Memorial, Lamayuru Moonland, and Sangam. Open May to November.
• Manali-Leh Highway (475 km / 2 Days): Legendary high altitude highway via Atal Tunnel, Jispa, Baralacha La (16,040 ft), Nakee La, Lachung La, Gata Loops, and Tanglang La (17,480 ft). Open June to October.
• Tourist Buses: HPTDC and HRTC operate luxury Volvo and deluxe buses between Manali and Leh, while JKSRTC operates regular buses from Srinagar TRC.

By Train:

Nearest broad gauge railheads are Jammu Tawi Railway Station (Station Code: JAT - 700 km) and Chandigarh Railway Station (750 km), connected to all Indian state capitals by Vande Bharat Express and Rajdhani Express.

Leh Ladakh offers an extraordinary landscape of high altitude lakes, historic Buddhist gompas, desert sand dunes, and mountain passes:

1. Pangong Tso High-Altitude Saltwater Lake (4,225m / 13,860 ft - Changthang)

Situated 160 km from Leh across the high Chang La Pass (17,688 ft), Pangong Tso is a breathtaking endorheic saltwater lake stretching 134 km from India into Tibet. Sitting at 4,225 meters altitude against barren mountain ridges, the lake does not support vegetation or aquatic life due to salinity, yet reflects vivid shifting shades of turquoise, cerulean, and emerald blue throughout the day.

2. Thiksey Monastery & 49-Foot Maitreya Future Buddha (12-Story Gelug Gompa)

Perched atop a commanding hill 19 km east of Leh, Thiksey Gompa is a 12-story monastery complex belonging to the Gelug (Yellow Hat) sect, bearing a striking resemblance to Lhasa's Potala Palace. It houses ten temples, ancient thangka scrolls, sacred stupas, and a magnificent 49-foot tall statue of the Maitreya Buddha (Future Buddha) installed to commemorate the Dalai Lama's 1970 visit.

3. Shanti Stupa White-Domed Peace Pagoda on Changspa Ridge (3,609m)

Built on a steep hilltop in Changspa by Japanese Buddhist monks and local Ladakhi artisans in 1991, Shanti Stupa is a white domed Buddhist reliquary holding the sacred relics of Gautama Buddha consecrated by the 14th Dalai Lama. The vantage point offers an unobstructed 360-degree panorama of Leh town, Leh Palace, and the snow capped peaks of the Stok Kangri mountain range.

4. Nubra Valley, Hunder Sand Dunes & Bactrian Camels (Valley of Flowers - 3,048m)

Located 150 km north of Leh, Nubra Valley (originally *Ldumra*, meaning Valley of Flowers) is a high altitude cold desert oasis formed by the Shyok and Nubra rivers. The white sand dunes of Hunder feature rare double-humped Bactrian camels (descendants of ancient Silk Route caravans), alongside the 106-foot statue of Jampa Buddha at Diskit Monastery.

5. Khardung La Motorable Mountain Pass (17,982 ft / 5,359m - Gateway to Nubra)

Situated 40 km north of Leh, Khardung La Pass stands at an elevation of 5,359 meters (17,982 feet), serving as the historic gateway to the Shyok and Nubra valleys and the Siachen Glacier. Maintained by the Border Roads Organisation, the summit features a famous roadside milestone sign, a military tea outpost, and panoramic vistas of the Karakoram range.

6. Leh Palace (17th-Century 9-Story Royal Residence of King Sengge Namgyal)

Constructed in 1600 by King Sengge Namgyal on Tsemo Hill, this nine story mud brick royal palace overlooked the royal family residence, featuring ancient royal murals, antique jewelry, ceremonial dresses, and rooftop views of Leh town.

7. Magnetic Hill & Gravity Defying Optical Phenomenon (NH-1)

Located 30 km west of Leh on the Srinagar-Leh highway, Magnetic Hill creates a famous optical illusion where parked vehicles appear to roll uphill in neutral gear due to the alignment of surrounding mountain ridges.

8. Sangam — Confluence of Indus and Zanskar Rivers (Nimmu - 2,800m)

The spectacular scenic confluence point near Nimmu where the emerald green waters of the Indus River merge with the muddy glacial torrents of the Zanskar River, renowned for river rafting.

9. Hemis Gompa & Hemis National Park (Snow Leopard Capital of the World)

The wealthiest monastery in Ladakh, famous for the annual Hemis Tsechu festival with masked Cham dances, situated next to Hemis National Park, India's largest protected national park and the premier global haven for wild snow leopards.
