The Royal Heritage Hotel (Sonam Palgey) is a 3 Star (accreditation awaited) heritage hotel located in Deorali in Gangtok. The property is situated in the heart of the capital, minutes away from Gangtok Centre. It is 124 km from Bagdogra Airport and 128 km from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. Also known as the Elephant Mansion, the hotel has its origin rooted in the royal heritage of Sikkim which was then an independent country. The Royal Heritage Hotel was constructed in 1963 for royal guests during the coronation of Sikkim's last King Palden Thondup Namgyal.
