Pickup from Delhi Railway Station/Airport, drive to Nainital. On arrival check in Hotel and relax. Over Night Stay in Hotel.

Day 2: Nainital (Local Sight Seeing)

After breakfast drive for lake tour of Bhim Tal, Sat Tal, Naukuchia Tal. Drive back to Hotel. Enjoy the Boat ride at Naini Lake & Ropeway (on your own). Evening enjoy Mall Road. Over Night Stay in Hotel.

Day 3: Nainital - Kausani (120kms/5hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Kausani via Almora. Kausani is ideal for those who seek to escape from the din and dust, hustle and bustle of big cities and wish to spend a quiet holiday in the lap of nature. Check in Hotel. After fresh up visit Sun set at View Point, Gandhi Ji Ashram. Over Night Stay in Hotel.

Day 4: Kausani

Day at Leisure or visit local sightseeing i.e. Baijnath & Bageshwar. Over Night Stay in Hotel.

Day 5: Kausani - Corbett National Park (190km/6hrs)

After breakfast, drive from Kasauni to Corbett National Park. On arrival check in to your pre booked hotel and relax. Later drive to Corbett National Park enjoy the WILDLIFE , FLORA AND FAUNA in the Jim Corbett Park. Over Night Stay in Hotel.

Day 6: Corbett - Delhi (280kms/7hrs)

After early breakfast, Visit Corbett National Park. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas is the majestic Corbett National Park. Home to a variety of flora and fauna, it is famous for its wild population of Tigers, Leopards and Elephants drive back to Delhi. On Arr. Delhi, transfer to Railway Station / Airport.

How to reach Kausani

By Air:

The nearest domestic airport is Pantnagar Airport (Airport Code: PGH), located approximately 165 km south of Kausani (around 5 hours scenic drive via Kathgodam, Bhowali, Almora, and Someshwar). Regular scheduled flights connect Pantnagar to New Delhi (IGI) and Dehradun. Alternatively, New Delhi International Airport (DEL) is 395 km away.

By Train:

Kathgodam Railway Station (Station Code: KGM) is the dedicated railhead for Kausani, located 132 km away (approximately 4 to 4.5 hours drive through the mountains). Prominent trains connecting Kathgodam include:

  • New Delhi – Kathgodam Shatabdi Express (Train 12040/12039): High-speed morning express from New Delhi (NDLS) arriving in Kathgodam in 5.5 hours.
  • Ranikhet Express (Train 15014/15013): Daily overnight express from Jaisalmer, Jaipur, and Old Delhi Junction (DLI).
  • Kathgodam Express / Uttar Sampark Kranti (Train 15035/15036): Daily direct service from New Delhi.
  • Shared and private taxis operate round-the-clock from Kathgodam Station to Kausani via Almora or Ranikhet.

1. Anasakti Ashram / Gandhi Ashram (Mahatma Gandhi's Meditation Hermitage)

The spiritual centerpiece of Kausani, Anasakti Ashram (also known as Gandhi Ashram) is the historic bungalow where Mahatma Gandhi resided in 1929 during his Kumaon tour. Enchanted by the peaceful deodar woods and glowing snow peaks, Gandhi penned his commentary on the Bhagavad Gita titled Anasakti Yoga here. The ashram houses a museum preserving original photographs, letters, spinning charkhas, and a peaceful prayer hall overlooking the Trishul and Nanda Devi peaks.

2. Panoramic Himalayan Sunrise & Sunset Over Mount Trishul & Nanda Devi

The defining highlight of visiting Kausani is watching the magical sunrise and sunset over the 300 km Himalayan snow barrier. At dawn, the first rays of the sun bathe the snowy summits of Mount Trishul (7,120 m) and Nanda Devi (7,816 m) in radiant golden and copper hues, while dusk transforms the white peaks into a fiery crimson and pink canvas that lingers long after dusk.

3. Kausani Tea Estate (208-Hectare High-Altitude Organic Tea Gardens)

Sprawling across 208 hectares at an altitude of 1,800 meters, the Kausani Tea Estate is the highest tea plantation in Uttarakhand. Established to revive organic Himalayan tea cultivation, the estate produces premium orthodox whole-leaf black and green teas (marketed under the Girias brand) exported to international markets including the USA, UK, and Germany. Visitors can tour the lush terraced tea slopes, witness leaf processing at the factory, and sample freshly brewed teas.

4. Baijnath Ancient Temple Complex (12th-Century Katyuri Stone Shrines - 16 km)

Located 16 km from Kausani on the banks of the holy Gomati River, Baijnath was the historic capital of the Katyuri Dynasty (Kartikeyapura). The magnificent 12th-century stone temple complex is dedicated to Lord Shiva (Vaidyanath) and Goddess Parvati, featuring intricate Nagar-style stone carvings, ancient Shivalingas, and a tranquil riverside promenade filled with sacred Golden Mahseer fish.

5. Rudradhari Waterfalls & Ancient Shiva Cave Temple (12 km)

Surrounded by dense emerald pine forests and terraced paddy fields on the Almora-Kausani road (near Kantali village), Rudradhari Falls is a natural cascading waterfall plunging down rocky cliffs. A gentle 1.5 km forest nature trek through fragrant pine woods leads to the falls and the adjacent ancient rock-cut cave temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.

6. Sumitranandan Pant Gallery & Literary Museum

Located in the heart of Kausani, this heritage museum commemorates the celebrated Hindi Chhayavadi poet Sumitranandan Pant, who was born here in 1900. The gallery houses his handwritten manuscripts, personal library, prestigious awards (including the Jnanpith and Sahitya Akademi awards), and personal memorabilia preserved in his ancestral home.

7. Kausani Shawl Factory & Handloom Woollen Weavers

Established to empower local rural Kumaoni women artisans, the Kausani Shawl Factory operates traditional wooden pit looms producing hand-woven Pashmina shawls, Angora stoles, Tweed woollen jackets, and traditional Kumaoni blankets. Visitors can watch live weaving demonstrations and purchase certified authentic woollen garments.

8. Someshwar Ancient Shiva Temple & Terraced Valley (11 km)

Built by King Som Chand of the Chand Dynasty in the picturesque Someshwar Valley, this historic Shiva temple features classical Kumaoni stone craftsmanship and is surrounded by rolling green paddy fields and peaceful apple orchards along the Kosi River.

9. Pinnath Mountain Peak Trek (5 km Forest Trail)

Perched on a high ridge overlooking the Kosi Valley (accessible via a scenic 5 km uphill forest trail through oak and pine woods), Pinnath features an ancient temple dedicated to Bhairon and offers panoramic 360-degree views of the Greater Himalayas and surrounding valleys.
