Day 1:   Dehradun - Guptkashi

Pick-up from Dehradun Railway Station as per your flights time or Airport, drive to Guptkashi. check in at hotel & relax, evening free for individual activities. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02:  Guptkashi Local Sightseeing

Have your breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Guptkashi Local Sightseens Lord Vishwanath, Manikarnik Kund, Ardhanarishwar Temple etc, Evening free for individual activates. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Day 03:   Guptkashi - Dehradun Dep.

After early breakfast, drive back to Dehradun. On arrive Dehradun, transfer to Railway Station or Airport.

By Air:

Jolly Grant Airport (Airport Code: DED - Dehradun - 190 km southwest) operates daily direct flights from New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad. Taxis and private hill cabs are available at the airport arrivals to reach Guptkashi in 5.5 to 6.5 hours via Rishikesh, Devprayag, and Rudraprayag along NH-07 and NH-107.

Helicopter Services to Kedarnath:

Guptkashi, Phata (14 km), and Sersi (22 km) host certified passenger helipads operating DGCA authorized helicopter shuttles to Kedarnath Dham in just 7 to 10 minutes (booked through the official IRCTC HeliYatra portal).

By Train:

Guptkashi is served by two major railway junctions in Uttarakhand:

• Rishikesh / Yog Nagari Rishikesh (Station Code: YNRK - 180 km): Principal railhead connected by express trains from Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
• Haridwar Junction (Station Code: HW - 205 km): Major railway terminal with regular Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi, and Vande Bharat express trains.
• Taxis, shared Tata Sumos, and UTC buses operate continuously from Rishikesh and Haridwar to Guptkashi.

By Road:

• From Delhi (~415 km / 9 to 10 hours): Via Delhi Meerut Expressway, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Tilwara, and Kund (NH-107).
• From Rudraprayag (~45 km / 1.5 hours): Direct scenic highway along the Mandakini River (NH-107).
• From Gaurikund / Sonprayag (~30 km / 1 hour): Direct roadhead for the Kedarnath trek.
• Regular UTC and GMOU state transport buses operate daily from Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun.

Local Transport:

Shared jeeps, mountain taxis, and private rental cars provide regular transport between Guptkashi, Phata, Sersi, Sonprayag, Gaurikund, and Ukhimath.

Guptkashi features a sacred collection of ancient stone temples, natural holy springs, Kedarnath helipads, and snow viewpoints:

1. Vishwanath Temple & Ancient Stone Shikhara Shrine (Shiva Sanctum)

The principal sanctuary of Guptkashi, dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vishwanath (*Lord of the Universe*). Built from large dressed stone blocks in traditional North Indian nagara shikhara style, the temple shares the same spiritual sanctity as the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. Pilgrims perform special rudrabhishek pujas here before undertaking the trek or helicopter flight to Kedarnath Dham.

2. Manikarnika Kund & Sacred Ganga-Yamuna Confluence Springs (Temple Courtyard)

Situated in the central courtyard of the Vishwanath Temple, Manikarnika Kund is a sacred stone bathing tank fed continuously by two natural mountain springs. The water spouts are carved in stone as the heads of a cow (*Gomukh* representing the holy Ganga) and an elephant (*representing the holy Yamuna*), where pilgrims take holy baths to cleanse sins.

3. Chaukhamba Snow Massif (7,138 m) & Himalayan Sunrise Viewpoint

Guptkashi offers uninterrupted panoramic views of the colossal four peaked Chaukhamba massif (7,138 meters), which dominates the northern skyline. Morning sunrises bathe the snow slopes in brilliant golden hues, visible from hotel terraces and ridges across the Mandakini valley.

4. Mandakini River Valley & Terraced Mountain Farming Slopes

The lush green valley beneath Guptkashi is sculpted with centuries old stone terraced farms, traditional slate roofed Garhwali villages, and magnolia (*champak*) groves that bloom with fragrant yellow flowers in early summer.

5. Guptkashi, Phata & Sersi Kedarnath Passenger Helicopter Bases

Guptkashi and its adjacent mountain stations at Phata (14 km) and Sersi (22 km) serve as the primary aviation hubs for the Kedarnath Yatra. Licensed helicopter operators run regular shuttle flights carrying pilgrims directly to Kedarnath Helipad in approximately 7 minutes.

6. Ardhanarishwar Temple & Half-Shiva Half-Parvati Cosmic Sanctum

Located within the Vishwanath Temple complex, this rare shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati depicted in their united Ardhanarishwar form, symbolizing the cosmic balance of masculine and feminine energies.

7. Ukhimath Omkareshwar Temple & Winter Seat of Lord Kedarnath (14 km across valley)

Perched on the opposite mountain slope across the Mandakini River, Ukhimath houses the historic Omkareshwar Temple where the idol (*doli*) of Lord Kedarnath is worshipped during the winter months (November to April) when Kedarnath is snowbound.

8. Triyuginarayan Temple & Eternal Wedding Fire of Shiva-Parvati (25 km)

An ancient stone temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, revered as the celestial venue where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were married in the presence of Lord Brahma. The sacred fire (*akhand dhuni*) in the temple courtyard has been kept burning for three cosmic ages.

9. Kalimath Temple & Sacred Shakti Peeth of Goddess Kali (10 km)

A sacred Shakti Peeth on the banks of the Saraswati River where Goddess Kali is worshipped in the form of a silver plate (*Kund*) covering the spot where the demon Raktavija was slain.
