Govindghat

Govindghat is a vital riverside town and gateway pilgrimage hub situated at an altitude of 1,828 meters (6,000 feet) along the banks of the Alaknanda River in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Perched strategically at the confluence of the Alaknanda and the Bhyundar Ganga rivers, Govindghat is the primary roadhead and starting base for expeditions heading to the sacred Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Valley of Flowers.
