Devprayag is a religious hub and is quite popular among tourists coming for pilgrimage or seeking some solitude close to nature. Situated amidst rolling Himalayan ranges, Devprayag is a popular pilgrimage centre for Hindus. Dotted with ancient temples and idols amidst the lush green surroundings, this place is a very beautiful and serene place. It derives much of its religious significance from the dynamic and vibrant natural elements that surround it such as the rivers. Dasharathachal Peak and Raghunathji temple are among some of the popular attractions here.

Day 1:   Dehradun - Devprayag

Pick-up from Dehradun Railway Station as per your flights time or Airport, drive to Devprayag. check in at hotel & relax, evening free for individual activities. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02:  Devprayag Local Sightseeing

Have your breakfast at the hotel. visit to Devprayag Local Sightseens, Deoprayag is an invocation to the gods who have kindly endowed this spot with remarkable natural beauty. It is believed that Lord Rama and his father King Dashratha did penance here. The temple of Raghunathji houses a tall picture of Lord Rama made of black granite. The most celebrated event at Deoprayag is the congregation of devotees, who come here to worship at Raghunath temple. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 03:   Devprayag - Dehradun

After early breakfast, drive back to Dehradun. On arrive Dehradun, transfer to Railway Station or Airport.

By Air:

Jolly Grant Airport (Airport Code: DED - Dehradun - 90 km southwest) operates daily direct flights from New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad. Taxis and private hill cabs are available at the airport arrivals to reach Devprayag in approximately 2.5 to 3 hours via Rishikesh and Shivpuri along the smooth NH-07 Char Dham highway.

By Train:

Devprayag is served by two major railway junctions in Uttarakhand:

• Rishikesh / Yog Nagari Rishikesh (Station Code: YNRK / RKSH - 72 km): Principal railhead connected by express trains from Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
• Haridwar Junction (Station Code: HW - 95 km): Major national railhead with regular Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi, and Vande Bharat trains.
• The upcoming *Rishikesh Karanprayag Railway Line* includes a dedicated tunnel station at Devprayag for high speed connectivity.

By Road:

• From Delhi (~310 km / 6.5 to 7.5 hours): Via Delhi Meerut Expressway, Roorkee, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Byasi, and Devprayag (NH-07).
• From Rishikesh (~72 km / 2 hours): Smooth 4-lane Char Dham Highway (NH-07).
• From Srinagar Garhwal (~33 km / 45 minutes): Direct NH-07 highway.
• From Rudraprayag (~68 km / 1.5 hours): Direct NH-07 highway.
• Regular UTC and GMOU state transport buses depart continuously from Rishikesh ISBT and Haridwar.

Local Transport:

Shared mountain jeeps, auto rickshaws, and private rental cars connect Devprayag with Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Chandrabadani, and Tehri.

Devprayag features a sacred collection of holy river confluences, ancient Divya Desam temples, astrological observatories, and suspension bridges:

1. Devprayag Sangam & Divine Confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda Rivers

The holy confluence where the swift, frothing teal green waters of the Bhagirathi River (originating from Gaumukh) merge with the calm, deep slate blue Alaknanda River (flowing from Badrinath). It is here that the river takes the revered name of *Ganga*. Stone bathing ghats equipped with safety chains allow devotees to take purifying holy dips amidst mountain breezes.

2. Raghunathji Temple & 1,200-Year-Old Divya Desam Rama Shrine

Perched upon the highest terrace of Devprayag town, **Raghunathji Temple** is an ancient stone sanctuary dedicated to Lord Rama, constructed in the 8th century by Adi Shankaracharya and renovated by the Garhwal Maharajas. Built of dressed black stone blocks in pyramidal style, it houses a 6 foot tall black granite idol of Lord Rama (*Raghunathji*) in standing posture.

3. Devprayag Pedestrian Suspension Bridges & River Gorge Overlook

Two pedestrian iron suspension bridges span high above the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers, linking the cliffside neighborhoods of Devprayag. Walking across these bridges provides views of the contrasting river currents, terraced houses, and ancient ghats.

4. Dashrathshila & Sacred Penance Boulder of King Dasharatha (Shanta River)

A sacred rock platform located on the banks of the quiet Shanta stream (a small tributary named after Lord Rama's elder sister), where King Dasharatha performed severe austerities and penance to seek progeny.

5. Chandrabadani Temple & Sacred Hilltop Shakti Peeth (Chandrakoot Peak - 33 km)

Perched at an elevation of 2,277 meters atop Chandrakoot Mountain (33 km from Devprayag), this sacred Shakti Peeth is dedicated to Goddess Sati (whose torso fell here). The sanctum houses a natural stone *Shree Yantra* and offers 360 degree views of snow peaks like Kedarnath, Badrinath, and Chaukhamba.

6. Brahma Kund & Vashishta Kund Confluence Bathing Ghats

The two sacred bathing kunds located on the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda sides of the Sangam, where Sage Vashishta and Lord Brahma are believed to have meditated before creation.

7. Danda Nagraja Temple & Ancient Serpent Deity Ridge Shrine (28 km)

A revered hilltop sanctuary dedicated to Lord Krishna in the form of the divine serpent King (*Nagraja*), situated atop Lasante ridge with views of the Pauri hills.

8. Kyunkaleshwar Mahadev & Historic Shiva Temple

An ancient stone Shiva temple nestled amidst mountain slopes, offering quiet meditation courtyards overlooking the river confluence.

9. Devprayag Ancient Pundit Astrology Astronomy Heritage Observatory (Nakshatra Vedh Shala)

Established in 1946 by Pandit Chakradhar Joshi, this historic astronomical observatory houses vintage sundials, telescope instruments, and ancient handwritten Sanskrit manuscripts on Vedic astrology.
