Arvi is a Taluka in Wardha District of Maharashtra State, India. Arvi Taluka Head Quarters is Arvi town. It belongs to Vidarbh region. It belongs to Nagpur Division. It is located 47 KM towards west from District head quarters Wardha. 711 KM from State capital Mumbai towards west. Arvi is a municipal town and headquarters of the tahsil of the same name lying about 34 miles north-west of Wardha junction and 22 miles from Pulgaon junction on the Central Railway with both of which it is connected by tar roads. It is the terminating point of the Pulgaon-Arvi metre gauge link. Besides the railway there is a bus service to and from Arvi, Pulgaon and Wardha. Arvi has also post and telegraph facilities. It is thus favourably placed for transport and communications and it is these facilities that have largely contributed to the commercial growth of the town.



Arvi "ghee" (clarified butter) is famous in Vidarbha region and is sold across region. There is lake named "Sarangpuri" created by Britishers in 1907 AD. The specialty of this is,water is supplied to entire town without motor by the mechanism of gravitational force Nowadays Water is supplied through Newly Constructed Lower Wardha Dam backwaters from Kaundanyapur( Kundinpur)which is also recreation center for the People here.
