Day 01: Cochin - Munnar

Meet and greet at Cochin airport/ railway station on arrival time by our representative. There after proceed to Munnar . Munnar is a hill station in Kerala and in southern India. It is marked by vast expanses of tea plantations, rivulets, waterfalls and cool weather. It is also an ideal destination for trekking and mountain biking. Evening reach at Munnar hotel/resort. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Munnar

After breakfast from hotel, we will proceed for Munnar sightseeing. It includes, Ervaikulam national park , (Twenty six species of mammals have been recorded in the park including the largest surviving population of Nilgiri Tahr) Mattupetty dam (is a storage Concrete Gravity dam built in the mountains of Kerala) ,Tea Plantations in Munnar, is aptly named, as it is home to some of the highest tea plantations in India. It lies on the state of Kerala and commands a panoramic view of rolling green hills. Evening back to hotel and rest of the day relax at hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Munnar - Thekkady

After breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Thekkady. Thekkady is considered a heaven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and clove The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread thick evergreen forest. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar River adds to the charm of the park. The greatest attraction of Periyar are the herds of wild elephants that come down to play in the lake. Sanctuary can be accessed through a nature walk, boating. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Thekkady - Kumarakom

After breakfast proceed to Kumarakom. On arrival at Kumarakom visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and later check in at hotel in, Evening go for Sunset cruise (optional) or enjoy the beauty of backwater by just relaxing near Vembanadu Lake. Overnight Stay at resort.

Day 05: Kumarakom - Alleppey

On time transfer to houseboat. Once you reach boarding point at houseboat, 12Noon your houseboat will be ready for cruise. You can start an amazing experience of backwater cruise with delicious Kerala. Next morning you will get 02 hrs cruise with Kerala Breakfast. By 09.AM you have to checkout from Houseboat.

Day 06: Alleppey – Cherai Beach

Proceed to Cherai after continental breakfast from hotel. On the way do cochin sightseeing. Fishing nets have become a very popular tourist attraction, their size and elegant construction is photogenic and the slow rhythm of their operation is quite hypnotic. The Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace, Today, it is a portrait gallery of the Cochin Rajas and notable for some of the best mythological murals in India, which are in the best traditions of Hindu temple art. Another historical attraction are , Jewish Synagogue , The Malabari Jews formed a prosperous trading community of Kerala, and they controlled a major portion of world wide spice trade. In 1568, the Jews of Kerala constructed the Synagogue adjacent to Mattancherry Palace. After that proceed to Cherai beach. Rest of the day leisure at Cherai beach.

Day 07: Cherai - Cochin Departure

Enjoy the morning breakfast at the hotel. Later we transfer you to Cochin Airport/ Railway station to proceed for yours onwards journey or way back home with sweet memories.

By Air:

The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport (Airport Code: COK), located 85 km northwest of Kumarakom (approximately 2 hours drive via NH-66 and the scenic Vaikom-Kumarakom lake corridor). Cochin Airport operates extensive non-stop flights to New Delhi (IGI), Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and London. Alternatively, Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) is 170 km south (about 4 hours drive).

By Train:

Kottayam Railway Station (Station Code: KTYM) is the primary railhead, situated just 15 km east of Kumarakom (approximately 25 minutes drive). Major superfast and express trains stopping at Kottayam include:

• Kasaragod – Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express (Train 20631/20632): Rapid travel connecting all major Kerala hubs to Kottayam.
• Kerala Express (Train 12625/12626): Daily direct train from New Delhi (NDLS) to Kottayam.
• Sabari Express & Island Express: Daily direct services from Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
• Prepaid taxis, app cabs, and auto-rickshaws are available 24/7 outside Kottayam station directly to Kumarakom resorts.

By Road:

Kumarakom is smoothly accessible via state highways and national highways:

• From Kottayam (~15 km / 25 minutes): Drive west via Kottayam-Kumarakom Road (SH-1).
• From Alleppey (~32 km across the lake / 48 km by road / 1 hour): Scenic route via Muhamma or Changanassery.
• From Kochi (~75 km / 2 hours): Drive south via Tripunithura, Vaikom, and Thanneermukkom Bund.
• From Munnar (~145 km / 4 hours): Mountain highway descending through Pala and Kottayam.

By Water (Public Lake Ferry):

Kerala State Water Transport Department (SWTD) operates regular passenger ferries between Muhamma Jetty (Alleppey side) and Kumarakom Jetty, taking just 40 minutes across Vembanad Lake for an economical and picturesque local experience.

Located just 8 km from Kumarakom, the tranquil village of Aymanam achieved global acclaim as the childhood home and backdrop of Arundhati Roy's Booker Prize-winning novel The God of Small Things. 4. Bay Island Driftwood Museum (Unique Andaman Sculptures)

Founded by retired school teacher Raji Punnoose, the Bay Island Driftwood Museum in Chakrampadi houses a Guinness-recognized collection of extraordinary sculptures crafted from natural driftwood collected over decades from the beaches of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. 5. Baker’s Historic 1881 Heritage Bungalow & Colonial Estate

Built in 1881 by English settler Alfred George Baker on a picturesque 20-acre estate, this stately Victorian-Travancore wooden mansion (now preserved as Taj Kumarakom) features vintage rosewood verandas, gabled tiled roofs, and an inner lagoon shaded by a 200-year-old giant banyan tree.

6. Pathiramanal Island Backwater Birding Eco-Reserve (Boat Ride)

An uninhabited 10-acre island sitting in the middle of Vembanad Lake between Kumarakom and Muhamma, Pathiramanal (meaning *Sands of Midnight*) is an idyllic sanctuary accessible only by boat, sheltering rare orchids, mangrove flora, and dozens of wetland bird colonies.

7. Aruvikkuzhi 100-Foot Cascading Waterfalls & Rubber Plantations (18 km)
