Mahasamund is a city located in the district of Chhattisgarh state of India. Mahasamund shares its boundaries with the districts of Raipur and Rajgarh of Chhattisgarh, Nawapara and Bargarh of Orissa. Mahasamund serves as an administrative headquarters of the district. It is the administrative as well as the economic headquarters of the district. When the matter comes to tourism this place has its own specialty. Mahasamund is more likely to be a spiritual place but there are other sorts of tourist attractions also present at this peaceful place. Mahasamund is gifted as one of the most beautiful and spiritual places of the country.



Attractions in the region of Mahasamund include Sirpur, which was once the capital of South Kosala region and also a centre of science, religion and studies related to arts. The Laxman Temple here is also one of the popular attractions because of its unique architectural work of bricks and ancient scriptures, which depict Lord Shiva.
