Rivilganj is a town and the oldest municipality in Saran district in the Indian state of Bihar. It belongs to Saran Division. It is located 9 KM towards west from District head quarters Chhapra. It is a Block head quarter. Rivilganj was the birthplace of Mata Anjana, the mother of Hanuman, the bhakt of Rama. This place is also known for Ahilya Uddhar. A temple devoted to Maharishi Gautam, also known as Gautam Sthan is located at Godna Mathia locality. There is also an ashram of Shringi Rishi in the municipality.
