Although Araria is not in the limelight for being a big city or something that can be considered notable due to historic importance this region is still a favorite for the travellers due to strategic location. Even though it is one of the backward areas in Bihar state but it remains in the notice for certain important features that distinguish it from the rest. Strategically Araria is very much an important location due to sharing international border with Nepal. The region is also known for its agriculture based economy, recently developed trade and business avenues and of course some of the notable historic places remind its past era and enriched golden history.



The district Araria is surrounded by Nepal in northern side, Kishanganj in western side and Supaul at south-eastern side. Jogbani is the last point of Araria district and after that Virat Nagar district from where the borders of Nepal start It has been carved out from the erstwhile Purnia district in the recent past. There two sub divisions of Araria, Araria and Farbisganj.
