Gangotri is one of the origin sources of Holy River Ganga (Ganges), The main origin of the river is “Gaumukh” which is a glacier located 19 km away from gangotri temple. Ganga river is the longest and most sacred river in world. Gangotri is located at an altitude of 3100 meters above sea level, on the banks of Bhagirathi river. Gangotri is the starting point of Ganga river where the goddess Ganga workshipped by the Pilgrims or Devotees. In Ancient time the river is called Bhagirathi and attains the name Ganga from Devprayag onwards where Bhagirathi meets with Alaknanda form Ganga River.
Gangotri in Uttarkashi district is being determined to be the holy place for the devotees and is recognized as Shri Gangotri Dham where the shrine of Goddess Ganga is being worshipped by thousands of pilgrims. This 18th century temple made of white granite structure at the height of 20 ft attracts tremendous devotees to catch the holy glimpses of the divine stature of power- the holy goddess Ganges. And, a natural submerged rock in the form of partial shivaling along the Gangotri Temple brings great significance to all where it is believed to be the same spot where Lord Shiva entangled the great waves of river Ganges in his matted locks. Day 01: Delhi - Haridwar (230 Km / 6 to 7 hrs)
Arrive New Delhi and we'll drive to Haridwar. On arrival at Haridwar, check in to your hotel. In the evening, proceed to Har Ki Pauri to enjoy Ganga Aarti on the banks of Ganges. Dinner and Overnight stay at Haridwar.
Day 02: Haridwar - Uttarkashi (150 kms/ 5 hrs)
Morning drive to Uttarkashi. On Arrive Uttarkashi, Check in Hotel. Later at evening visit Lord Vishwanth Temple. Back to your hotel, Dinner and Over night stay at hotel.
Day 03: Uttarkashi - Gangotri - Uttarkashi
Morning after breakfast leave for Gangotri and on arrival take a holy dip in the River sacred The Ganges, also called Bhagirathi at its origin. Perform Pooja after that and relax for sometime in the lovely surroundings. After Gangotri temple back Uttarkashi. Arrive uttarakashi Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Uttarkashi - Rishikesh - Haridwar (170kms/6hr)
Drive to Rishikesh/Haridwar. Check in Hotel. At evening visit Ganga Aari at Parmarth Niketan. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Rishikesh - Haridwar - Delhi (250kms/7hr)
Drive back to Delhi. On Arr. Delhi, transfer to Railway Station / Airport.
