Saidpur is a town and a nagar panchayat in Ghazipur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh India. Saidpur is a small town. It belongs to Varanasi Division. It is located 43 KM towards west from District head quarters Ghazipur. It is a Tehsil head quarter. It has an average elevation of 70 metres. Saidpur is on the main road from Varanasi to Ghazipur and is one of the important markets of Ghazipur district.



Saidpur has many attractive tourist spots around it. The most important is the Bhitari. The name is originated from the word Bhumutri. This place has got immense archaeological importance. During the Gupta Era, this region used to be inhabited by the Buddhists. The most important monument present here is a red sandstone monolith that is situated on a stone within a fort. This place is believed to be the residential place of the Gupta Rulers.
