Palia Kalan is a small peaceful city and a municipal board in Lakhimpur Kheri district in uttar pradesh. The river Sharda flows close to the town. Palia is situated close to the Nepal border, with the Nepalese town of Dhangadhi around 35 km by road. The early description of Palia Kalan in history is for surryan farm owned by Sir Iqubal singh which had an air strip also during 1947-1960 to land his own small planes. Before independence the British people used to come to this place for hunting wild animals, mostly to hunt tigers.This area was under Khairigarh state now it is known as Singahi which is 47 km from palia.



Palia Kalan a small town situated on the edge of UP North and Sharda river flowing near adds great diversity to flora and fauna of the town. Palia Tehsil The World Famous Dudhwa National Park adds jewel to it’s crown, it is the home of Tigers, Hippos, Reindeers and Aligators apart from other species which makes Palia the favourite destination to the tourists for excursion.
