Bodhan city is located along the Godavari and Pedda Vaagu River banks in Nizamabad district of Telangana. It is located at a distance of 21 km away from the district Headquarters Nizamabad and 205 km away from the state capital Hyderabad. The city was once called as “Boodhan” which is a Prakrit name that means “Land given to poor as alms”. The city is also called as “Eka Chakrapuram”. The city is sub divided into three main divisions namely Bodhan, Rakasipet and Shankar Nagar which are the vital landmark areas of Bodhan city. Bodhan is well known for its ancient monuments and Nizam sugar factory. The current city of Bodhan grounds numerous commercial and industrial landmarks in its grounds.
