Day 01 : Coimbatore to Madurai

This first day is marked with greeting by one of our representatives. We make sure that you check in to a pre-booked hotel without any hassles. You get assistance in fulfilling all the formalities. After taking some rest you get an opportunity to spend the evening as per your wish. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotels in Madurai is planned.

Day 02 : Madurai

This day is dedicated to visit the Madurai city, the oldest cities of India. With a number of world famous temples, the Meenakshi Temple, Meenakshi Sundereshwar Temple, the city boasts many other fascinations. With other tourists attractions, such as Thirumalai Nayak Palace, Azhagar Kovil, Gandhi Museum, this day becomes richer than imagined.

Day 03 : Madurai - Kodaikanal (120 km / 04 hrs)

On this day, we witness the hill stations and begin our tour with Kodaikanal. As it 120 Km from Madurai, Kodaikanal is tranquil that makes its hill station more worthwhile. The major beauty is Kodaikanal Lake that is recognized for attracting a wide variety of visitors. The hill station is rich in flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight stay is rendered at the Kodaikanal.

Day 04 : Kodaikanal-Ooty (300 km / 7 hrs)

This day is dedicated to witnessing beautiful scenery engulfed with covered mountains and one could enjoy from a hotel’s room window. Picturesque Ooty also remains on the charts. Overnight stay is planned in Ooty.

Day 05 : Ooty

Ooty constitutes one of the most enchanting Tamil Nadu hill stations. This is the only reason why it is known as the "Queen of Hill Stations". If you are opting for hill stations in Tamil Nadu, this hill station is the sought after. Picturesque Blue Mountains is recognized as the Nilgiri Mountains since it is blue in colour. With fine manicured tea gardens, serenity and lush green environs the beauty becomes envious. Overnight stay will be at hotel in Ooty. Thereafter, train journey from Coonoor to Ooty in the evening awaits your arrival.

Day 06 : Departure from Coimbatore

This is the last day of our tour and we proceed to Coimbatore. We witness the beautiful city after some rest and little sightseeing in Coimbatore. You will love this city as it comes with several ancient temples. Perur Siva temple is one of the oldest among the lot.
In the evening our staff assists you to check in to the hotel where you freshen up and we assist you for your onward journey. We at Travelogy India leave no stone unturned in rendering you sweet memories.

By Air:

Madurai International Airport (Airport Code: IXM - 12 km south): Modern airport operating regular flights connecting Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Colombo, and Dubai. Taxis and airport buses reach the city center in 25 minutes.

By Road:

• From Chennai (~450 km / 7 to 8 hours): Via Grand Southern Trunk Road (NH-45 / NH-38) through Villupuram and Trichy.
• From Bangalore (~435 km / 7.5 hours): Via NH-44 through Salem, Karur, and Dindigul.

A classic 17th century royal palace built by King Thirumalai Nayak in 1636 AD, blending Dravidian and Islamic architectural styles. Renowned for its massive courtyard (*Swarga Vilasam*) supported by 248 giant cylindrical pillars rising 82 feet with exquisite stucco arches and evening light and sound shows.

4. Vandiyur Mariamman Teppakulam & 16-Acre Historic Float Festival Tank

A massive square temple tank spanning nearly 16 acres, built by King Thirumalai Nayak in 1645 AD. Centered around a beautiful four pillared island pavilion (*Maiya Mandapam*), it hosts the colorful Float Festival (*Theppotsavam*) during Thai Poosam.

5. Gandhi Memorial Museum (Tamukkam Palace & National Freedom Heritage)

Housed in the historic 17th century Tamukkam Palace of Rani Mangammal, this is one of five official Gandhi museums in India. It preserves Mahatma Gandhi's bloodstained loincloth from 1948 and comprehensive exhibitions on India's freedom struggle.

The first of the six sacred abodes (*Arupadaiveedu*) of Lord Murugan, carved into the granite rock face 8 km south of Madurai where Murugan married Deivayanai.
