North East region draws attention of travel aficionados around the world. And it is a fact that adding the beautiful eastern destination of Darjeeling to it does make for an exciting trip in India. North East Region by offering an insight on three incredibly beautiful destinations. The tour will also be a way of contemplating our relationship with nature along with enabling us to see that life can be happy without the interventions of many modern equipments and accessories.

Through the meandering roads and valleys, we shall head to our first North East destination, Pelling. Replete with nature’s bounty, Pelling becomes our first impression of North East and it does not disappoint in anyway. The hub of Buddhists who are seen worshipping in ancient monasteries like Pemayangtse, this hill town is where one can seek utter peace and a sense of spirituality. In our tour, we shall visit the prime attractions of Pelling like the legendary lake at Khecheopalri; Kunchenjunga Falls and Rimbi Falls, the two perennial waterfalls; Dentham Valley; Tsangey Falls and Sinsore Bridge, the highest bridge.

Package Itinerary

Day 01: NJP Rly Station / IXB Airport – Gangtok (125 kms / 4 hrs)
Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport & transfer to Gangtok (5,480 ft.). On arrival Check-in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 02: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir
After breakfast start for an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) Which is 55 kms one way from Gangtok city. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 03: Gangtok – Lachung (116 kms / 6 hrs)
After breakfast pick up from hotel & transfer to Lachung (8,800 ft). Enroute visit Singhik View point, Seven Sister Water Fall, Naga Water Fall, and arrive Lachung by evening. Overnight stay at Lachung.

Day 04: Lachung – Yumthang Valley Excursion – Gangtok
Early Morning drive to Yumthang Valley (11,800 ft. Known as Valley of Flowers). On the way back, visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort for lunch and transfer to Gangtok, enroute witness the wonderful Bheema & Twin water falls. On arrival at Gangtok check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 05: Gangtok – Pelling (120 kms / 5 hrs) via Chardham
After breakfast start for Pelling (6,100 ft.). Enroute visit Temi Tea Garden, Samdruptse & Siddheshwar Dham (Chardham) in Namchi. On arrival check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 06: Pelling Sightseeing 
After breakfast start for full day sightseeing. 1st Half tour - Darap village, Rimbi water Falls,  Khecheopalri Lake & Khangchendzongha waterfalls. In afternoon start for 2nd Half tour - Pemayangtse Monastery, Rabdantse Ruins, New Halipad Ground. Overnight stay at Pelling.

Day 07: Pelling – Darjeeling (109 Kms / 4 hrs)
After breakfast transfer to Darjeeling (6,710 ft.). On arrival check-in to hotel & rest of the day free. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 08: Darjeeling Ssightseeing
Early Morning (at 04:00 am) drive to Tiger hill to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha (28,208 ft. Worlds 3rd highest peak), on your way back visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ropeway and Japanese Temple. Evening free for shopping or leisure. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Day 09: Darjeeling – NJP Rly Station / IXB airport (98 kms / 3 hrs)  
After breakfast Check-out from hotel and transfer to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for your onward journey.

    •     Any cost arising due to natural calamities like, landslides, road blockage, political disturbances (strikes), etc (to be borne by the client, which is directly payable on the spot). 
    •     Any increase in taxes or fuel price, leading to increase in cost on surface transportation & land arrangements, which may come into effect prior to departure. 
    •     Room Heater Charges.

  • 25% Amount at the time of booking. 100% Amount 15 days or earlier, before travel date. Payment by cheque or online payment facility available. Your booking confirmation number will be provided to you.

 

Tour Cancilation policy

  • Strictly depends upon concerned hotel's cancellation policy
  • Minimum Cancilation charges before 10days of Travel Date is 10% of package cost

How to reach Pelling

By Road from Siliguri, Gangtok & Darjeeling:

  • From Siliguri / NJP (~130 km / 4.5 to 5 hours): Via NH-10 along the Teesta river to Melli, continuing via Jorethang, Legship, and Geyzing ascending to Pelling.
  • From Gangtok (~115 km / 4 to 4.5 hours): Via Singtam, Ravangla, and Legship.
  • From Darjeeling (~72 km / 3.5 hours): Via Peshok, Teesta Bazaar, Jorethang, and Legship.
  • Shared Tata Sumo cabs and SNT (Sikkim Nationalised Transport) buses operate daily services from Siliguri, Gangtok, and Jorethang directly to Upper Pelling.

By Train & Air:

  • Bagdogra International Airport (Airport Code: IXB - 135 km south): Major airport with daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. Pre paid private cabs reach Pelling in 5 hours.
  • New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (Station Code: NJP - 130 km south): Major broad gauge railway terminus connected across India.
  • Pakyong Airport (Airport Code: PYG - 110 km east): Regional airport near Gangtok.

1. Pelling Skywalk & Chenrezig Statue (137ft Gilded Buddha & India's First Glass Skywalk at 7,200ft)

A premier mountain tourism landmark perched at 7,200 feet elevation on Sangachoeling ridge. Features a colossal 137 foot tall gilded statue of Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara / Buddha of Compassion) flanked by India's first high altitude glass skywalk bridge suspended over sheer vertical drops with 360 degree panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga range.

2. Pemayangtse Monastery (1705 Nyingma Gompa & 7-Tiered Wooden Sangtokpalri Model - 2 km)

One of the premier and most sacred monasteries in Sikkim, established in 1705 by Lama Lhatsun Chempo for pure monk practitioners. Houses priceless antique murals, ancient statues, and on its top floor, the world famous seven tiered hand carved wooden model of Guru Rinpoche's celestial heavenly palace (Sangtokpalri).

3. Rabdentse Ruins & Royal Palace Grounds (17th Century Former Capital of Sikkim - 3 km)

The evocative stone ruins of the second historic royal capital of Sikkim, founded in 1670 by Chogyal Tensung Namgyal. Reached via a scenic stone paved trail through dense chestnut and oak forests, the archaeological complex showcases the royal palace foundations, stone chortens, and royal throne overlooking the valley.

4. Khecheopalri Sacred Lake & Wishing Waters (Holy Footprint Lake in Virgin Forest - 28 km)

A sacred, tranquil mountain lake revered by both Buddhists and Hindus as a wish fulfilling sanctuary. Revered as the footprint of Goddess Tara, the lake is nestled amidst dense virgin subtropical forests where, according to legend, birds prevent even a single leaf from resting on its sacred surface.

6. Singshore Suspension Bridge (Asia's Second Highest Hanging Bridge at 100m - 26 km)

An engineering marvel spanning across a 240 meter wide mountain chasm at a dizzying height of over 100 meters above the canyon floor. Walking across the suspension bridge offers thrilling vertigo inducing views of waterfalls and misty river gorges below.

7. Sangachoeling Monastery (Sikkim's Oldest 1697 Buddhist Sanctuary & Ridge Trek - 4 km)
