It is located 34 KM towards North from District head quarters Haveri. It is a Taluk head quarter. Shiggaon taluk is bounded by Dharwad district in the North, Savanur taluk in the East, Hangal taluk in the South and Mundagod Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the West.
