It is located 34 KM towards East from District head quarters Gulbarga. 551 KM from State capital Bangalore The river Kagina passes through Shahabad and is a major source of water for the town. The road which connect to shortly with main city of Gulbarga is not yet completed from past fives years.This river Kagina has dried due to illegal sand and stone mining on the river sand beds.
