Sagara is located in Western Ghats and it is surrounded by the forest regions and water bodies. Sagara gets its name from Sadashiva Sagara, a lake constructed by Keladi Ruler Sadashiva Nayaka between Keladi and Ikkeri. This lake is now called as Ganapathi Kere.
