Pasighat is the headquarters of East Siang district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Situated at 155 meters above mean sea level, Pasighat is Arunachal's oldest town. The town has derived its name from the tribes of the place namely ‘Pasis’. Pasighat is a small town. It experiences a hot and humid climate during summers and a temperate climate during winters, making its winters the best time to visit the place. The vast river of Brahmaputra, also called the Siang, transcends down to this town from Tibet. The place is also a photographer’s delight for comprising abundant sceneries of nature.
