Salur is a municipal town and Mandal headquarters in Vizianagaram district, of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It belongs to Andhra region. It is located 57 KM towards North from District head quarters Vizianagaram. It is a Mandal head quarter. It is bounded by Makkuva, Bobbili, Ramabhadrapuram and Pachipenta mandals of Andhra Pradesh state. Salur is surrounded with green forests and chain of hills on two sides and by River Vegavathi on the other two sides.



Salur also holds an importance place among the Hindu pilgrims. The famous Sri Panchmukheswara temple is here in Salur. The beautiful gardens of flowers like Jasmine, Rose and Marigolds create a serene environment in Salur as flower cultivation is one of the main occupations here. The fort inside the city of Salur is also very popular and a large number of tourists come here to see this majestic fort.
