Over the past few years, north eastern states of India have found favour with travellers. Even small towns in Sikkim are becoming very popular and Lachung is one of the front runners. Located near the borders of Nepal and China, this sleepy little town is fast changing into one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. Lachung is nestled not just at the foot of a stunning mountain, but also right next to the spectacular Yumthang Valley, which offers some fantastic views.
Located at a distance of 148 kms from Lachung, the nearest inhabited centre. A long motorable drive to Yumthang Valley through the beautiful and enchanting mountain streams, lush slopes on the sides, and dazzling Himalayan yellow poppy and blooming rhododendron on sloped hills will make your spirit thrilled with excitement. During April to May most of the Rhododendrons are on full bloom and makes the hilly forest looks like - Forest on Floral Fire. Yumthang is a valley with breathtaking beauty. A flat greeny grassy land in the lap of mountains covered with trees and vegetation on both sides and an icy river merges with the Teesta River, flowing through it is enough to make you speechless.
