It is sprawled across 7.5 acres of manicured lawns and offers a breath-taking view of the Bay of Bengal and the Port Blair harbour. To commemorate the rich flora and fauna of the islands, the resort is named after the endemic scrubfowl called the Nicobar Megapode. These birds are also known as the mound-builders or incubator birds as they build the largest nest-mounds of sand to incubate their eggs.
