The city of Anand is located in Gujarat, India. It serves as the government headquarters of Anand district in the state. Popularly known as the milk capital of India, Anand forms a portion of the area called as Charotar which is made up of Kheda and Anand districts. While traveling to Anand, one can also go through the history and the factories of one of the biggest dairy companies in the world - AMUL. The Swami Narayan Mandir in the heart of the city is its main attraction with devotees and lovers of architecture coming from all parts of the state to experience its enchanting beauty. Anand is a place known for its semi-rural set up and the Swami Narayan Mandir which is the crown jewel of the city. An emerging city, Anand still has traces of its rural past which can be seen when one is traveling to this wonderful city. Anand is renowned for housing the Amul dairy and Milk factory. The city is home to the National Dairy Development Board of India and Anand Agricultural University. Anand is also the birth place of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and also has the Tribhovandas Foundation that is a non government voluntary organization working towards the development of rural women and children in Anand.
