Hotel The Lotus is a small and idyllic value budget hotel near Kalka Railway Station. It is a great option for those of you travelling to Himachal Pradesh (Shimla, Manali) as the hotel is just 300 metres from Kalka Railway Station KALKA SHIMLA TOY TRAIN IS THE best way to reach Shimla from Kalka. The railway track WAS opened by British Government in the year 1903. The distance of 96 KM between Shimla and Kalka passes through 103 tunnels and 864 bridges. It connects Kalka at an height of 656 metre to Shimla at 2076 metre from mean sea level. The five hour journey is one of the best train journeys for tourist operated by Indian railway.
